Job Title: Mold Operator

Shift: Need one 1st shift, one 2nd shift

Molding Technician

Summary:

The Molding Technician is responsible to perform duties to maintain the flow of work and to ensure product quality and quantity is attained by performing set-ups and start-ups of production machines and equipment.  This role will also be responsible to assist in sustaining production tooling through routine maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set-up and start-up molds and operate molding machines per specification.
• Perform material changes as required.
• Assist with job-related documentation and records.
• Perform routine mold and machine maintenance and safety checks.
• Report safety hazards to shift supervisor, as required.
• Maintain workstation cleanliness.
• Assist in training new set-up personnel.
• Communicate quality related issues.
• Assist Engineering personnel in determining root cause of tool failure and providing corrective action, as required.
• Support other functions, such as material handling, as required.
• Comply with Quality System guidelines, as documented in the company’s Quality Assurance manuals.
• Other responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, or equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in injection mold and machine set-up operations in a production environment
• Knowledge of injection molding molds and tooling
• Ability to speak, write, and understand English
• Ability to work with measuring devices (i.e., calipers, micrometers)
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Good mechanical skills
• Ability to move and/or lift up to 50lbs., as required
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines 
• Computer literacy
• Good problem-solving skills
• Desired: Two (2) years of trade school, or Associate Degree or higher

The employee must frequently lift/move and/or push/pull up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift/move and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Use of vision correction is acceptable, if necessary; however, any vision correction apparatus must meet all safety guidelines for the area of activity. *Safety Shoes are required for this position.
