Maintenance Lead - 2nd Shift (Nights)

Business Unit Overview Michael Foods, Inc. is a leader in the food processing and distribution industry with business in egg products, refrigerated grocery, and potato products. Location Description Lenox, Iowa – a small town located in southwest Iowa. Responsibilities This is a 2nd shift (6pm-6am) position offering competitive wages, bonuses for relocation, sign-on, and annual earnings. The Maintenance Lead provides both Maintenance and Reliability services within the plant, championing executional excellence and asset health improvement efforts. The role ensures results while partnering with the MFI ARM team, plant maintenance team personnel, plant operational team, and all other plant support teams for success. The Maintenance Lead works with the maintenance workflow process team to ensure that work orders for plant assets are in the CMMS backlog and are planned and scheduled effectively, works with technicians to ensure scheduled work orders are executed, documented, and the value of the job is captured and reported. They promote, execute, mentor, and coach excellence in preventive and corrective maintenance practices. The Maintenance Lead becomes a resource to the plant, focusing on improving operating condition of equipment and performance of the maintenance team, complying with safety work rules and reinforcing safety as a core value. The role must be available for scheduled work times, weekends, and holidays as necessary. Lead maintenance team members and tasks to ensure personal safety, quality, delivery, and cost are continuously improved to achieve company objectives. Engage and develop the asset care team members to deliver expected levels of reliability. Be an active member who contributes to the advancement of the MFI & ARM culture. Execute and champion Precision Maintenance® techniques ensuring procedural compliance and that job tolerances are met. Identify, develop, justify, and implement reliability and performance improvement projects. Responsible for identifying, coordinating, and facilitating maintenance and reliability training for team personnel. Lead/assist craftsman during maintenance assignments. Lead technical troubleshooting tasks while assisting other plant personnel in a teaching environment. Execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks with excellence. Utilize MFI approved CMMS to manage, document, and support reliability reporting and decision making. Keep accurate and up-to-date records (i.e., SAP data, training documentation, etc.). Provide input for root cause analysis (RCA) and Reliability Centered Maintenance to create an environment of continuous asset reliability improvement. Promote and foster Michael Foods culture, values, and principles. Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviors. Assumes personal responsibility to insure safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks. Adhere to quality work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality. Always ensures required regulatory compliance. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent. Associate's degree or two-year technical certificate, or experience which demonstrates technical aptitude preferred. 3 to 5 years of experience as an industrial maintenance technician preferred. Trained and competent in MFI MTL1, MTL2, & MTL3 skills preferred. MFI People Leadership Essentials or equivalent training preferred. Active Society of Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) membership preferred. Prior experience in SAP preferred. Ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with superb time management skills. Excellent administrative and follow-up skills to achieve successful maintenance and repair programs.
