Ophthalmic Technician | Full-Time - Plymouth Meeting, PA

Wills Eye Hospital is hiring an Ophthalmic Technician in Plymouth Meeting, PA. This full‑time, 40‑hour per week position involves preliminary ocular assessment activities—including medical history, visual acuity and stereo testing, lensometry, motility, applanation tonometry, pupil dilation, acuity meter testing, and manifest refraction/autorefractometry—under direct supervision of an ophthalmologist/optometrist. Oversees the efficient flow of patients through the eye clinic, ensuring resources are sufficient for scheduled patients and directing them appropriately. When appropriate, performs lensometry, reading lenses with multifocal and progressive adds, power of sphere, axis of cylinder power, and orientation of prism. Performs intraocular pressure assessments using applanation tonometry and the tonopen. Instills dilating drops (and other ophthalmic drops) per physician instructions. Communicates professionally with fellow employees, medical staff, and other health team professionals. Ensures exam rooms are stocked with appropriate instruments, patient handouts, and any other equipment/materials required by physicians.
