Senior Revenue Accountant

Our client is a publicly traded advertising company. They seek a Senior Revenue Accountant to join their Manhattan, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Analyze client contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with applicable accounting standards
- Evaluate revenue arrangements to ensure accurate accounting for accrued revenue, deferred revenue, and related balances
- Monitor aging schedules for revenue-related balance sheet accounts and coordinate with business partners to resolve outstanding items
- Assess complex contract terms to determine the appropriate accounting treatment for revenue transactions
- Verify that recorded revenue is supported by executed agreements and underlying project documentation
- Participate in month-end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and revenue reporting
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and business stakeholders to resolve revenue accounting questions and reporting issues
- Prepare account analyses, supporting schedules, and documentation for internal and external audit requests
- Identify opportunities to strengthen revenue recognition processes, internal controls, and reporting accuracy
- Assist with ad hoc financial analyses, accounting projects, and process improvement initiatives
Requirements
- 3-6+ years of revenue accounting experience
- Advertising or similar industry
- Deferred revenue and unbilled receivables experience
- Strong Excel, NetSuite, and Salesforce experience
- CPA preferred
