Job Summary: We are currently seeking a Full-Time, Part-Time, or PRN Medical Director (M.D.) for Bristol County Jail & House of Corrections. All applicants must be comfortable traveling between Bristol County Jail and Plymouth County Correctional Facility (in Plymouth MA) Responsibilities Provide timely and appropriate medical care of the patient population in accordance with community and national standards of care. Respects the patients’ right to privacy in accordance with confidentiality practices for incarcerated individuals. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of all patient information, including medical record information. Ensures that minimum documentation standards are met and that the medical record supports the care and continuity of care of the patient. Provides on-site emergency treatment and responds appropriately in urgent medical situations. Assumes accountability and responsibility for his/her own actions and judgments. Reviews x-ray and laboratory findings. It will be the duty to prescribe the appropriate type of medicine and treatment. Responsible for referring patients for special types of diagnostic treatments or medical procedures and coordinates plans for treatments. Provides medical consultation to prevention, treatment, care and diagnosis of health conditions and problems. Adheres to, safely enforces and follows security procedures and regulations for security related policies and procedures, key control, sharps inventories and controlled substances. Communicates schedule changes with Administrator and assists in arrangement of medical services coverage for planned absences. Adheres to all CPS Clinical and Administrative policies. It is an essential part of the job that CPS can ask the employee to work beyond his/her regularly scheduled hours. Follow all security rules and regulations. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Schedule: Full-Time, Part-Time, or PRN Salary: $170 - $180 per hour Requirements Qualifications and Education: Must possess a current Massachusetts M.D. license. Current Federal Controlled Substance Registration must be in good standing. Current Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration must be in good standing. Must be Board Certified/eligible or qualified by state laws and regulations to practice medicine. Experience in primary care specialty in corrections or managed care delivery preferred. Hold current CPR certification. Physical Requirements: Regularly required to stand; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear. Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move over 35 pounds. Regularly able to adequately perform CPR.
