HVAC Mechanic II-Overlook Medical Center-Full Time United States and 1 more Job Description Responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, and related environmental‑control systems utilizing knowledge of heating and refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layout. Principal Accountabilities Mount compressor and condenser units on platform or floor, using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications. Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and chassis parts, using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment. Cut and bend tubing to correct length and shape, using cutting and bending equipment and join tubing or pipes to various refrigerating units. Connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating‑ventilation fans to control panels, and connect control panels to power source. Install expansion and discharge valves in circuit. Inject small amounts of refrigerant into compressor to test systems and add Freon gas to build up prescribed operating pressure. Replace defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring to repair installed units, using electrician's hand tools and test equipment. Ensure efficient operations and make routine and non‑routine decisions with some latitude, but still subject to approval. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. 3–5 years experience in HVAC or relevant area. Universal EPA Certification. Preferred: Completion of HVAC School.
