Develops, implements, and improves the operation of equipment. Acts as interface between maintenance technicians and engineering to ensure the maintenance of equipment in production. Implement an established maintenance program and maintain detailed maintenance records.Responsibilities:Develops best practices to improve equipment capacity, quality and reliabilityRepair, adjust, and maintain production equipment, machinery, or instruments in cooperation with internal and external staff to ensure that it functions reliably and complies with process specifications.Coordinates activities (PM's, TPM, problem solving) of third party contractors, vendors, or suppliers related to the maintenance field.Investigates problems, analyzes root causes and derives resolutions. Will use 8D Problem Solving Process to ensure sustainable quality products.Supports development of operational strategies to achieve energy and financial objectivesMonitor expenses and profitabilitySupports equipment uptime, MTTR, MTBF, and OEE by relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goalsEvaluates current production activities and drives improvementsEnsures that highly technical equipment meets required specifications and high quality standardsImplements cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standardsContributes to product and process quality design testing methodsDevelops planning standards, methods, and procedures to maintain robust PM, TPM processes as well as robust containments and countermeasures for equipment downtimeStays current with product specifications, engineering technology and production processesProposes and manages small-scale projects from beginning to end.Collaborates with other departments in preparing scope of work including project requirements, milestones, deliverables, end products, documents and reports that are expected to be provided by external providers.Takes an active role in the implementation of new equipment.Drives the implementation of continuous improvement processes for efficiency to create a Lean Manufacturing environment.Participates in regularly scheduled team meetingsWill perform other duties as assignedQualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant degree required.. 3 years plus of relevant experience required, strongly preferring automotive environment including experience with:PLC experience such as; OMRON, AllenBradley, Siemens3D-CAD experience such as; SolidWorks, Catia, Siemens NX, ect.Hands-on experience pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and computer controlled systemsHands-on experience with process devices such as; motor drives, sensors, AC/DC converters, lifts, conveyors, etc.Experience with Paint applications (chemicals, sprays, filtration, pumps, degreaser, hydrocyclones, rectifier process, anodes, anolyte systems, ultra-filtration, DI-water, industrial paint oven curing)Experience with joining technologies, clinching, gluing and fluid technologySAPiproHands-on Programming experience in booth or work cellHands-on experience in off-line simulationsExperience with project managementExperience with equipment installationKnowledge of manufacturing methods/procedures and process technology.Must be able to evaluate alternative solutions and support decision making process.Proven written and verbal communication.Able to anticipate needs and deliver timely, relevant solutions and actions.Proven design & implementation of Continuous Improvement themes with savingsExperience in process layout and optimization incorporating asset utilization is a plus.Ability to troubleshoot, instruct repair techniques, & assist if needed for root cause analysis in stressful situationsAbility to read & create blueprints and schematicsExcellent compensation & benefits plan with 401k matching.Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC is committed to fostering an inclusive environment that appreciates and leverages the diversity of our team.
