Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand the trauma history of patients, guiding the development of tailored treatment approaches.
• Create and execute individualized treatment plans aimed at recovery from trauma using evidence-based techniques.
• Implement therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) during both individual and group sessions.
• Facilitate sessions that help patients process their trauma, develop effective coping strategies, and enable healing.
• Engage in close collaboration with psychiatrists and a variety of health professionals to provide comprehensive care.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring patient safety and support.
• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available community resources, empowering them in their recovery journey.
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation in line with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Participate in ongoing case consultations and professional development activities that emphasize trauma-informed care and best practices.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in trauma therapy research to continually enhance your therapeutic approaches.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a mental health therapist at Bayview Psychotherapy Services, you will work primarily with individuals who have experienced varying degrees of trauma. Many of your patients will be navigating the complexities of PTSD, complex trauma history, and disassociation issues. Your role not only involves providing therapy but also fostering a safe space where clients feel valued and heard.

Qualifications

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current, valid license as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
• At least 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred.
• Expertise in trauma-related disorders and knowledge of trauma-focused therapeutic modalities and resilience-building strategies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills combined with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to therapy.
• Capability to maintain composure and effectiveness in high-pressure situations.
• Proficient in using electronic health record systems and other relevant software applications.

Preferred Experience

Previous experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies, particularly within a community health setting, will significantly enhance your ability to thrive in this role. Familiarity with cultural competency and sensitivity toward diverse populations is also highly beneficial, ensuring that the care provided is respectful and relevant to all patients.

Compensation and Benefits

This role offers an attractive annual salary in the range of $90,000 to $110,000, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
