Restaurant Prep Cook

We’re looking for an enthusiastic food prep worker who can deliver outstanding results in the kitchen, prepping meals for our chef/cook. Your main responsibilities will be to stock, prepare, and measure condiments, and slice and dice food. You’ll keep your workstation and equipment clean and follow all required safety protocols. Good organizational skills, the ability to take directions well, and the ability to read recipe instructions and labels in English, as well as handle a variety of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and measuring tools are required. Some experience and an associate's degree are preferred but not required. If you are a positive self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, we want to meet you! Compensation: $17 - $18 hourly Qualifications Prefer someone with some kitchen prep experience and associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent, but it is not required Read and comprehend recipes, labels, and meal charts written in English Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as bend, pull heavy items, and stand on your feet for your entire shift Flexibility to work weekend hours and holidays if necessary, as well as some extended hours Have some experience prepping food and the ability to work under the head chef/cook with minor supervision Responsibilities Maintain a clean, organized prep area and workstation at all times, and sanitize equipment after each shift or when we close Use the correct amounts of condiments, wash all fruits and vegetables to be peeled, diced, and sliced, slice meats, and mix a variety of sauces Perform other basic cooking duties as necessary, such as brewing coffee or tea, preparing soups, reducing sauces, and assisting other cooks in the kitchen if needed Follow instructions for recipes.
