Exciting Travel RN Opportunity in Cardiovascular Progressive Care Job Description: - Join a dynamic team on a 40-bed cardiac surgery stepdown unit! - Primary patient population includes: - CV surgery and vascular surgery - Open heart surgeries (CABG, AVR, MVR, Bentall, TAVR, etc.) - Thoracic lung surgeries (lobectomy, thoracotomy, etc.) - Esophagogastrectomy and AAA repairs (open and endovascular) - Fem-pop bypass and carotid endarterectomies - Overflow medical cardiology patients (heart failure, DKA, sepsis, etc.) - Staffing Overview: - Approximately 100 dedicated staff members - Day Shift: - 1 Charge RN (often out of staffing) - 13 RNs - 4 PCTs - 1.33 HUC - Night Shift: - 1 Charge RN (often out of staffing) - 13 RNs - 4 PCTs - 0.33 HUC - Patient Ratios: - 1:5 patients per RN - 1:13 for PCTs - Equipment: - Baxter IV pumps - CADD epidural pumps - Various lifts - EMR System: Cerner - Typical Hiring Profile: - Must Have: - Stepdown experience - Telemetry experience - Preferred: - CV surgery and vascular surgery experience (within last year) - CVICU experience - Procedures Performed on Unit: - Epidural management - Chest tube management - Tube feedings - IV gluccomander - Management of cardiac gtts (e.g., phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine) - Ideal Candidate: - Team player - Thrives in a fast-paced environment - Flexible and adaptable - Required Certifications: - ACLS - BLS - Floating Areas: - Any Stepdown (1:5 ratios) or Med-Surg unit (1:6-7 ratios) - ER inpatient holding area (1:6) - Dress Code: - All navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white scrub attire - Weekend and On-Call Requirements: - No call - Minimum of 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) per 6-week schedule - Flexibility to work during holidays Why Catalytic Solutions (CatSol): At CatSol, we connect dedicated therapists with rewarding assignments across the country.
