FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER (FULL TIME)

Job Title: Food Service Worker / Cashier Location: Lyon County School District, 450 Hardie Lane, Fernley, NV 89408 Schedule: Full‑time, Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 1:30 PM (details to be discussed during interview) Pay: $13.00 per hour Job Summary Performs cashiering duties while maintaining sanitation standards in kitchen and dining areas. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables, weighing and measuring ingredients. Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards. Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment. Store foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food‑safety, and rotation procedures. Cleans work areas, equipment, and utensils. Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements. Use approved recipes and production standards to achieve correct serving temperature and portion control. Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner. Interact with customers and resolve complaints courteously. Relate relevant information to the supervisor. Process sales transactions using the cash register. Make change and accept various payment methods. Issue receipts and handle cash refunds per standard procedures. Maintain cash drawer compliance with overage/shortage standards. Replenish condiments, beverages and general supplies while keeping the service area clean. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Prior school kitchen or related experience preferred. Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
