Field Manager

We are seeking a results-driven Field Manager to elevate the overall efficiency and profitability of our field operations under the direction of the COO. This leadership role involves the direct management of Project Managers, Superintendents, Field Employees, and Subcontractors, ensuring projects are completed to specifications, on time, and within budget. A key performance metric for this position is the reduction of project errors and associated cost overruns, specifically targeting issues like untimely material delivery, improper logistics planning, inaccurate travel booking, and inefficient rental equipment sourcing to improve both client satisfaction and internal workflow. Key Responsibilities: Provide necessary supervision, guidance, and coordination with the Warehouse team to ensure alignment between project planning and field execution. Directly manage, mentor, and evaluate the performance of all Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure consistent execution across all job sites. Oversee and supervise the work of Field Employees and Subcontractors, ensuring they adhere to company policies and procedures. Coordinate with HR on the hiring, training, and performance management of field staff, providing feedback and support for their development. Act as the main point of contact for field staff regarding all operational issues and provide decisive problem-solving support. Project Execution & Logistics Coordination Serve as a dedicated point person to identify, evaluate, and address operational and logistical errors that contribute to unnecessary project costs, with a focus on improving overall project profitability and operational efficiency. Oversee the day-to-day operations of field activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and ensuring smooth workflow. Attend all required on-site job site meetings to proactively address issues and coordinate field activities. Attend weekly project meetings to review ongoing issues, discuss closed project performance, and plan scheduling and resource needs for upcoming new projects. Attend monthly meetings with the Warehouse Manager to proactively review material stock, address equipment maintenance issues, and determine the need to purchase new equipment, vehicles, or trailers. Oversee and verify the Project Management team's tracking to ensure material is delivered on time to avoid job delays. Audit procurement records to ensure Project Managers are securing multiple prices for rental equipment and miscellaneous items to minimize unnecessary costs. Ensure all field teams are verifying plans and updating job statuses quickly to maintain accurate project records. Monitor project progress, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet the manufacturer's product installation requirements. Oversee the coordination of Subcontractors, setting clear expectations for performance. Maintain consistent communication with Project Managers, including scheduled weekly follow-ups and daily touchpoints (via Google Chat or text message), to ensure strict adherence to schedules and immediate resolution of issues. Attend monthly meetings with upper management (COO and President) to present comprehensive progress reports on project status and operational efficiency. Reporting will focus on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to job error reduction, variance tracking (budget vs. actual cost), and logistics-related savings achieved. Safety & Compliance Ensure that all field activities are conducted in accordance with safety regulations and company policies. Monitor and verify that all field employees, Superintendents, and Subcontractors are strictly following OSHA guidelines and site-specific safety protocols. Implement and utilize a formal safety oversight system, including daily field safety checklists, to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues. For all identified safety or compliance breaches, the Field Manager is responsible for immediate corrective action, detailed documentation (including reports and photos), and leading the required safety debriefings. Address any issues or challenges that arise in the field, making informed decisions to resolve problems and keep projects on track. Effectively manage personal and company email correspondence. Treat all colleagues with dignity and respect, regardless of their background, position, or beliefs. Collaborate with colleagues across all departments, maintaining a positive and supportive attitude. Work independently, take initiative, and be prepared to assist with other administrative tasks as requested by management and colleagues. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding company financials, project bids, employee records, and client information, and is required to sign the company's Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) as a condition of employment. Be prepared to assist with additional tasks as requested by management to support evolving business needs. Required Qualifications & Skills Problem solving skills. We don't expect you to have every answer on day one, but we value curiosity, critical thinking, and root cause analysis. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a management position. Proven experience in construction/field operations management is preferred. Demonstrated experience in a Project Management capacity is highly desirable. Excellent ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment. Professional fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred. Availability and willingness to participate in required management classes, certifications, and any other relevant training identified by management to support compliance, safety, or operational effectiveness. Availability to travel out of town when required to support job sites and project needs. Requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to manage operations, coordinate logistics, and ensure compliance. Proven ability to motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and make data-driven decisions. A sharp eye for detail and a proven ability to identify and eliminate errors in logistics, scheduling, and procurement that negatively impact project costs and client experience. Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints. Ability to effectively manage stress and maintain composure when handling high-pressure situations, project delays, and complex operational issues. OSHA 30-Hour certification is preferred. If not, will be needed once onboarded. Physical Demands & Work Environment This role operates in both a professional office environment and active construction job sites.
