Nocturnist /Nighttime Hospitalist — FTE (Direct Hire)
Location: Hilton Head, South Carolina
Employment Type: Full-time, Direct Hire, Night Shift

About the Role
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Nighttime Hospitalist to join a collaborative inpatient team at a community hospital in Hilton Head, SC. This full-time, direct-hire role focuses on nighttime inpatient coverage, urgent clinical decision-making, and safe transitions of care during overnight hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient care for adult medical patients during night shifts.
• Admit, evaluate, manage, and discharge patients in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Triage and manage emergent inpatient issues, coordinate urgent consults, and stabilize patients overnight.
• Communicate effectively with daytime teams, consultants, nursing staff, and case management to ensure seamless transitions.
• Document timely and accurate clinical notes and meet hospital quality and patient-safety metrics.
• Participate in nocturnist-led quality improvement initiatives and on-call coordination as required.

Schedule & Practice Model

• Nighttime schedule (typical shift times and frequency can be specified by employer; e.g., 7p–7a or 8p–8a).
• Full-time clinical FTE with potential for flexible scheduling
• Primarily on-site night coverage; limited or no daytime responsibilities.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine (Hospital Medicine or nocturnist experience preferred).
• Active or eligible for medical licensure in South Carolina.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong clinical decision-making and triage skills; excellent communication and teamwork.
• Experience with EHR documentation preferred.
