Security Solutions Architect

Security Solutions ArchitectNovolex is seeking a Security Solutions Architect to lead the architectural design of secure, scalable enterprise platforms. This role focuses on embedding security into system, application, cloud, and data architectures rather than operating day-to-day security controls. You will define security architecture patterns, guide design decisions, and influence technology strategy while balancing risk, usability, and business objectives. This position will be based out of Lake Forest, IL, Charlotte, NC, or remote.As Security Solutions Architect, you will:Define security architecture principles, reference architectures, and design patterns for enterprise systems, applications, and platforms.Provide architectural review and guidance for new initiatives, major design changes, and technology selectionsEvaluate proposed architectures to identify systemic risk, design gaps, and improvement opportunitiesSupport security tooling decisions from an architectural fit and integration perspectiveCommunicate architectural decisions and risk posture effectively to technical and business stakeholdersCollaborate with IT, risk, and compliance teams to strengthen detection and response maturity.Strong knowledge of CyberArk or other PAM software and frameworkProtocol mastery (DMARC/DKIM/SPF)Foster a culture of continuous improvement, operational discipline, and resilience.Cyber Governance & Policy ManagementMaintain and update cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures to align with enterprise requirements and industry frameworks.Coordinate the policy lifecycle including drafting, review, approvals, and recertification.Ensure organizational alignment to governance requirements and escalate non?adherence.Cybersecurity Program OversightTrack execution of the cybersecurity roadmap.Collect program updates from domain owners and ensure alignment to governance expectations.Identify gaps or risks affecting program objectives and recommend remediation.KPI, Metrics & ReportingMaintain and report on cybersecurity KPIs, KRIs, and dashboards.Validate data sources and ensure reporting accuracy.Develop executive?level governance materials.Risk & Compliance Alignment (Non?Audit)Maintain alignment of the cybersecurity program to regulatory and industry frameworks.Support governance processes for risks, exceptions, and policy deviations.Participate in governance committees and support control adherence documentation.Cross?Functional Governance SupportFacilitate governance meetings and follow?ups.Enforce standards for consistency across cyber domains.Act as a central coordination point for governance initiatives.EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER SKILL REQUIREMENTS5+ years of experience in enterprise technology roles with significant focus on security architectureBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.Experience applying security frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, and OWASP at the architectural level3+ years of experience in designing solutions in public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level discussionsExperience defining zero trust architectures and guiding their adoption across platformsSKILLS STRONGLY DESIREDProfessional certifications such as:CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security ProfessionalMicrosoft Azure Solutions Architect ExpertAWS Certified Solutions ArchitectCyberArk CertificationProofpoint CertificationCompensation: A reasonable estimate of the current range is $125-135,000 + bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. At Novolex, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.The benefits for this role include 401(k) plan with company match, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending and health savings accounts, paid vacation, and sick days, paid parental leave, paid holidays and wellness program.* The range provided is based on cost of living/geography and what we believe is reasonable in the market at the time of posting. This role may be eligible for annual bonus and annual merit increase, as well as long term compensation. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors.
