Service Manager

Overview DIRECT HIRE: An awesome opportunity for an experienced Service Manager to join a dynamic team. The Service Manager holds a critical position within the company as they will be expected to maintain high levels of integrity, production, sales, and excellent customer service as it pertains to portable fire extinguishers, fire alarm, and fire suppression systems. As a Service Manager, you will be responsible for staffing, profit, performance, safety, and stability of their team and companywide, as well as upholding company standards of excellence. Locations: Stockton/Modesto, CA. Pay Range: $70,000 - $75,000. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours. Responsibilities Oversee production within the Northern Region, which includes offices in both Modesto and Stockton. May also assist with the Merced office when needed. Educate and schedule staff on efficient routing and inspection completion times for production personnel, ensure internal paperwork and AES documentation is completed correctly during inspections, and assist production personnel with issues that may arise during inspections. Assist in maintaining accurate warehouse and vehicle inventory. Assist in overseeing the fire shop manager and responsibilities. Provide prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous customer service to resolve any disputes in a timely manner. Meet with new and existing customers to promote a positive business relationship and conduct worksite surveys to identify challenges production personnel may encounter. Generate new and update existing master service agreements, contract work orders, and service agreements for large customers. Maintain knowledge of and continue education of all current applicable codes and standards associated with Fire Protection Inspection, Testing and Maintenance. Guide, train, and manage production personnel while promoting employee development. Maintain a positive attitude while leading a team of technicians in an efficient and productive manner. Ensure production personnel follow and comply with corporate safety programs, coordinate upcoming safety training with the Corporate Operations Manager, and identify and address safety concerns on worksites that can cause potential harm to personnel and reduce company liability. Maintain company issued tools, tool lists, vehicle inventory, and ensure all testing equipment issued to personnel remains calibrated and in proper working condition. Assist with tracking and provide pertinent information to corporate management as required for production personnel certifications. Manage company issued vehicles, inventories, and ensure vehicle maintenance frequencies are followed. Ensure that proper safety, health and business laws and regulations are adhered to. Maximize efficiency and company profits. Responsible for reviewing and approving individual staff timecards to ensure accuracy. Skills Manage, lead, and motivate personnel in a positive manner to achieve company and department goals. Manage all aspects of department activities and efficiencies. Resolve problems, issues, disputes, and challenges of customers, personnel, and other managers with sound judgement to arrive at the best possible solution that is in the corporation’s best interest. Work with peers to maintain corporate continuity and foster productive achievements. Organizational skills to manage large amounts of information. Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work under conditions that are high in stress. Ability to work with minimal direction. Qualifications & Requirements Proficient in Microsoft Office software such as Excel, Word, and Adobe. Passion for the mission and industry. Good math skills to accurately calculate sales orders, contracts, and divisional profits. Good communication skills, verbal and written. Detail oriented. Minimum education level – High School graduate. Some college, technical school, or five years of experience preferred. Knowledge and experience in Fire Protection and Service Industry including portable fire extinguishers, fire alarm, and fire suppression systems. California Driver’s License and a DMV record acceptable with our insurance company. Preferred (Not Essential) NICET certification. Fire Extinguisher Certificate of Registration Type 1, 2, 3. Manufacturing Fire Suppression certificates. Automatic Extinguishing Systems Sprinkler Fitter Card. Knowledge of Epicor/Prophet 21 and Service Trade.
