Position Elementary School Theatre Teacher Summary As part of an exciting Fine and Performing Arts Expansion, the district is seeking a dynamic and passionate Elementary Theatre Teacher. The role involves inspiring creativity, cultural expression, and a sense of belonging among students through theater. Responsibilities Plan and implement instruction to ensure all students meet and exceed Common Core Standards and State Frameworks. Use data to inform instruction, track student progress, and conduct self‑evaluation and goal setting. Deliver engaging, targeted instruction that meets MA DESE and Common Core standards for the level and subject taught. Differentiate services and instruction to meet a variety of student learning needs and strengths. Maintain active communication with students’ families to support learning and provide regular updates on academic and social progress. Assess student performance using formal, summative, and portfolio assessments to drive instruction. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal. Qualifications Hold Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license as an Academic: Teacher, Theatre: All Levels. Possess knowledge of secondary theatre education methods and the ability to navigate technology software and applications. Have experience designing and implementing engaging lessons, units, and assessments that align with the MA Frameworks for Theatre. Have positive classroom management techniques, be responsive to student diversity, and enjoy working in an urban setting. Have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with colleagues, administrators, and parents. Terms of Employment Reports to: School Principal. Rate: In accordance with the Unit A contract.
