Senior Software EngineerLOCATION: Joint Base San Antonio, TXJOB STATUS: Full Time; SalariedCLEARANCE: MUST have an active Top Secret clearanceAstrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to directly support the USAF Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division, which is within the USAF Cyber and Networks Directorate and located at Lackland AFB, TX.Minimum QualificationsMust be a U.S. CitizenActive TS/SCI clearance required.Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience10+ years of experience creating, debugging, patching, and maintaining software and/or applicationsKnowledgeable in multiple programming languages to include Python, Java, JavaScript, and C languagesAbility to Integrate with other organizations/teamsAbility to develop a highly effective working relationship with the customerPreferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience12+ years of experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems development5+ years in multiple programming languages to include Python, Java, JavaScript, and C languages is preferredExperience working and incorporating Agile Scrum development methodologyResponsibilities Include:Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.Preparing and installing solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.Improving operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.Obtaining and licensing software by obtaining required information from vendors, recommending purchases, testing, and approving products.Providing information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.Accomplishing engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed.Developing software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, investigating problem areas, and following the software development life cycle.Plan and or implement agile acquisition/SW development techniques.Plan and or implement DevOps processes and techniques for Cloud and non-cloud applications.Coordinate with PMs on findings and propose changes needed to ensure vendor makes adjustments based off of requirementsOther duties as assigned
