What You'll Do

As a Structural Welder at Mazzella, you will fabricate, repair, and assemble heavy structural steel components used in overhead cranes and material handling equipment. Your craftsmanship will directly support products our customers rely on every day.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform Flux Core (FCAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding on structural steel components.
• Weld structural assemblies in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
• Fit, align, clamp, tack, and weld steel components for fabrication and assembly.
• Fabricate, repair, rebuild, and modify structural steel assemblies.
• Inspect completed welds to ensure quality standards are met.
• Remove slag, spatter, and excess weld material to complete finished assemblies.
• Maintain welding equipment and keep a safe, clean, organized work area.
• Safely move materials and finished products throughout the fabrication process.
• Work closely with teammates to deliver quality products on time.
• Follow all company safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

What You Bring

• Experience welding structural steel in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Strong experience with Flux Core (FCAW) welding .
• Experience with MIG (GMAW) welding.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
• Experience fitting and fabricating structural steel components.
• Pride in producing quality workmanship.

Requirements

Education

A high school diploma or GED is required; military experience, trade or technical school preferred

Experience & Skills

Certified Welder

Required to obtain a D14.1 certification at a G1-G4 position within 30 days after hire.


If they have already obtained certification with a previous employer is does not apply in our facility. They would need to qualify with Mazzella.


Minimum 2 years' experience in a metal fabrication environment or other equivalent experience

Must be able to read and interpret blueprints

Possess a working knowledge of all applicable manufacturers and industry standards (CMAA, HMI, ANSI, and OSHA)

Must be able to lift or pull a minimum of 50 pounds

Requires solid written and verbal communication skills

Strong analytical, conceptual and planning skills are required

Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required

Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to multi-task

Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify
