Production Supervisor Trainee

A day-in-the-life (and how it evolves) Week 1–4: You’re on the floor, learning our rubber value stream end-to-end. You’ll run lathes and grinders, support rubber processing, and see how material and schedules flow to meet customer needs. Month 2–5: You become a go-to resource. Operators look to you for direction on setups, troubleshooting, and prioritizing work. You practice clear, consistent communication and build trust through presence and follow-through. Month 6–12: You take on more ownership—balancing labor and workflow, aligning safety and quality expectations, and partnering with Quality and Engineering when issues arise. You’ll participate in coaching conversations and continuous improvement. Lean experience is not required; we’ll teach it. What you’ll master Operations: Operating lathes, grinders, and rubber processing equipment; understanding department workflows and production standards. Leadership on the floor: Assigning work, supporting setups, and being a reliable point of contact for operators. Safety and quality: Modeling a safety-first mindset and ensuring specifications and standards are met. Production management: Scheduling basics, material flow, customer requirements, and managing daily priorities. Where this leads In approximately 12 months, you’ll be positioned for a Rubber Value Stream Supervisor / Production Manager role—owning safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people leadership for your area. Who thrives here (must-haves) Manufacturing & machining background: Hands‑on experience with lathes, grinders, or similar equipment; or a 2‑year technical degree in machining, manufacturing, or a related field. Leadership experience: You’ve served as a lead, trainer, or informal supervisor, and you can hold others accountable while communicating clearly and respectfully. Leadership mindset: Floor-first approach, strong work ethic, professionalism, and comfort working alongside operators. Important to know This is not entry-level and not a desk-only role. You must be comfortable leading people and working hands‑on in production.
