Community Association & HOA Attorney – Miami, Florida (South Florida)

Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and client-focused Community Association & HOA Attorney to join a well-established law firm in Miami. This role involves advising condominium and homeowners associations on a wide range of legal matters, including governance, compliance, disputes, and litigation.
The ideal candidate is experienced in Florida community association law, enjoys working closely with boards and property managers, and can effectively handle both advisory and litigation responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise HOAs, condominium associations, and cooperative boards on governance and legal compliance
- Interpret and enforce governing documents (declarations, bylaws, rules, and regulations)
- Handle covenant enforcement actions , collections, and disputes with unit owners
- Represent clients in state court litigation, arbitration, and mediation
- Draft and review contracts, resolutions, amendments, and association documents
- Provide guidance on Florida statutes governing community associations (e.g., Chapter 718, 720)
- Attend and advise at board meetings and annual association meetings
- Assist with collections, lien enforcement, and foreclosure actions
- Handle disputes involving vendors, construction defects, insurance claims, and property issues
- Communicate regularly with board members, property managers, and stakeholders

Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD)from an accredited law school
- Active Florida (FL) Bar license (required)
- 2–8+ years of experience in community association, real estate, or civil litigation
- Strong knowledge of Florida condominium and HOA laws
- Experience with litigation, collections, and/or board advisory work
- Trial experience is a plus
