Essential functions include facilitating communication between the patient and the provider, preparing patients for visits with providers, completing tasks associated with company initiatives, maintaining exam room standards, monitoring biohazard and sharps containers, assisting the provider in preparing patient prescriptions and completing medical and patient forms, retrieving and responding to voicemails, preparing patient electronic charts for clinic visits, verifying testing results, scanning clinical documents into EMR, printing clinic schedules, ensuring the patient receives education, managing EMR desktops of assigned providers, acting as PTO Buddy, creating and promoting a positive patient experience, maintaining a HIPAA compliant environment, maintaining a clean workspace, and demonstrating current competencies for the job position.

Education: Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.

Experience: Medical Assistant experience is preferred.

Requirements: Medical Assistant certificate of completion from an accredited program or LPN license.

Knowledge: Knowledge of the health care field, general knowledge of patient care in a clinic, knowledge of back office skills, knowledge of patient confidentiality, state laws, HIPAA regulations and medical records procedures.

Skills: Professionalism when interacting with providers, co-workers, patients, family members and the public, ability to problem-solve, time management skills, ability to adapt to change.
