Software Engineer - AVP

What will you be doing? Barclays Services Corp. seeks Software Engineer – AVP in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available): Participate in all aspects of software delivery, including analysis, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and handover to the production support team. Design, develop and improve software, utilizing various engineering methodologies including Java and relational databases on Windows and Linux platforms, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for Barclays. Provide support to the Run the Bank (RTB) team and handle urgent production issues for Barclays’s Enterprise Security Master (ESM). Perform application development and support using Barclays Way methodologies, including change requests and client request lifecycle management via Jira. Guide and assist in onboarding activities for Barclays Reference Data systems, ensuring product functionality meets business requirements. Integrate data distribution with the latest technologies for global use, serving as the SME in the US for various data applications like regulatory reporting and trading desks. Mentor developers and provide technical guidance and training. Collaborate with clients to gather requirements, present updates, and provide post implementation support. May telecommute pursuant to company policies. [Hybrid role] Minimum Salary: $189,592 per year Maximum Salary: $195,000 per year The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. Accountabilities Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance. Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives. Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing. Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth. Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions. Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
