Financial Data Analyst

Financial Data AnalystThe Financial Data Analyst will also assist with the financial reporting process by performing recurring and ad-hoc analysis to provide insight into the drivers of financial results and support recommendations relating to business planning, profit improvement and operational efficiency. In addition, this position will perform internal controls over financial reporting to ensure accuracy of financial statements and financial information utilized by internal and external parties.Responsibilities and DutiesDevelop comprehensive understanding of the data needs of finance, the structure of Donegal's financial data within its various systems, and interface with technical experts to inform project specifications and requirementsResponsible for confirming data requirements and clarity of data deliverables for defined finance projectsParticipate as needed in cross-functional initiatives and projects for the finance function including system implementations and continuous operational improvementsWork with finance and other supporting functions to define and execute financial systems strategy and implement new/enhance existing finance systemsAct as liaison between the finance function and analytics/IT to resolve application or other systems-related issues through completionDesign, develop and perform test cases, test scripts and validation processes based upon system requirements and functional specificationsPrepare, coordinate and assist with end-user trainingAssist in administering security and operational maintenance of the OneStream environmentAssist with financial analyses to explain financial results and support the assessment of major strategic and operating decisionsPerform internal controls over financial reporting to ensure accuracy of financial informationRequirementsKnowledge of financial reporting and internal control requirementsStrong analytical skillsInterpersonal skillsMicrosoft Office proficiency requiredFinancial systems/data administration experience preferredOneStream application experience a plusRelevant experience working within the Property & Casualty insurance industry preferred
