Distribution Field TechnicianVerdantas is seeking a talented Distribution Field Technician to join our team in the Grand Rapids or Petoskey, MI office. This hands-on role focuses on supporting field operations, ensuring quality and compliance across a variety of infrastructure projects.Join our team, and your career will be amplified by a culture of empathy, innovation, and life balance, recognized by employees as the top firm to work for in 2025 by Zweig Group!What You'll Do:Map and inventory existing overhead and underground distribution systems in the field, supporting the design and providing input on system rebuilds and upgradesIdentify system and safety issues in electrical systems, including supporting our clients when faced with emergency outages caused by storms or technical issuesCoordinate preconstruction meetings between clients and construction contractorsPerform construction inspections and spot checks to ensure construction meets design and safety standardsPerform post-construction inspections supporting as-builts and ensuring safe and reliable electricity distribution for residential, commercial, and utility clientsCompletion of field documentation in a timely manner, such as job safety analysis (JSA) forms, project field reports, field notes, monitoring, and chain-of-custody formsMaintain detailed records of work performed and maintain strong communication with the office staffWhat You Bring:High School Diploma or equivalentCompletion of lineman apprenticeship program and a Dept. of Labor Journeyman certificate2-5 years of experience with electric overhead and underground distribution systemsStrong technical knowledge of electrical systems and equipment, including but not limited to: transformers, insulators, switches, conductor, elbows, and teesAbility to read and interpret technical diagrams and electrical plansCapable of working primarily in an outdoor work environment and occasional office environmentMust be able to carry up to 50 lbs. without accommodation and the ability to climb poles is a plusCommitment to safety protocols and regulatory complianceStrong communication skills, both written and verbalMust have and maintain a valid Driver's LicenseSalary Range:$24-$27Benefits:Flexible Work EnvironmentPaid Parental LeaveMedicalDentalVisionLife and AD&D InsuranceShort-Term and Long-Term Disability401(k) with Company MatchPaid Time Off + HolidaysVerdantas strives to develop new ways to increase diversity awareness within our organization.
