Mechanical General Superintendent

Position OverviewExperienced field leader responsible for planning, directing and executing mechanical construction activities across commercial, healthcare and hospitality projects. The Mechanical General Superintendent will manage on-site installation of HVAC, plumbing and piping systems, lead multi-trade crews and subcontractors, enforce safety and quality standards, maintain schedule and budgetary control, and ensure regulatory and client compliance for hotels, resorts, casinos, hospitals, assisted living, colleges and other commercial facilities.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise field installation of HVAC, plumbing and piping systems for large commercial, healthcare and hospitality projects.Manage day-to-day field operations including manpower planning, daily assignments, timesheet oversight and labor productivity tracking.Enforce site safety programs and OSHA requirements; lead toolbox talks, site audits and corrective action plans to maintain a safe work environment.Coordinate with project management, engineering, subcontractors and vendors to sequence work, resolve site issues and maintain schedule adherence.Prepare, review and manage submittals, RFIs and shop drawings to ensure compliance with contract documents and design intent.Administer change orders and document field impacts; provide accurate time and material reports and support cost recovery.Perform quality control inspections, enforce workmanship standards, and lead punch list resolution and commissioning activities.Support takeoffs, field verification and preconstruction efforts to inform estimating and scheduling.Interpret contract drawings and specifications; ensure installations meet code, manufacturer and client requirements.Oversee subcontractor performance, enforce contractual requirements and manage vendor coordination on site.Maintain accurate field documentation including daily reports, inspection records, timesheets and material logs.Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with planners and superintendents; proactively identify risks and mitigation strategies.Train, mentor and coach foremen and craft personnel to build effective teams and increase field efficiency.Facilitate client and owner walkthroughs, inspections and acceptance processes; act as primary onsite representative for the mechanical scope.Qualifications10+ years of mechanical construction experience with progressive field leadership roles; prior General Superintendent or Senior Superintendent experience required.Proven track record on commercial, healthcare (hospitals, assisted living), hospitality (hotels, resorts, casinos) and higher education projects.Hands-on experience with HVAC, plumbing, piping systems and related installations.Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, site safety management and safety certification (OSHA 30 preferred).Experience managing submittals, change orders, RFIs, shop drawings and field documentation.Proficient reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications and commissioning requirements.Demonstrated ability to manage labor, crews, scheduling and manpower forecasting; experience with timesheet and field reporting systems.Experience with quality control, inspections and compliance with building codes and manufacturer requirements.Familiarity with takeoffs and supporting estimating teams is preferred.Excellent communication, leadership and conflict resolution skills; ability to coordinate multidiscipline trade partners.Valid drivers license and ability to travel to project sites; background checks as required by clients.Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in mechanical construction, HVAC technology or related field preferred; relevant certifications (NCCER, LEED, PMP or similar) a plus.BenefitsCompetitive Base Salary: $100k - $145kLucrative BonusCar Allowance/Company VehicleHealth InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceLife InsuranceRetirement PlanPaid Time OffPaid Holidays
