Commercial Journeyman Electrician

THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is a well-established, non-union (merit shop) commercial and industrial electrical contractor operating throughout Northern California since 1998. They self-perform work across the Greater Bay Area, Central Valley, and Sacramento region, and are recognized for a strong safety culture, including platinum-level safety accreditation and a long track record of repeat work with major general contractors. This is a direct-hire, full-time position with the client — not a temporary or contract assignment. They are currently seeking certified Journeyman Electricians with at least 4+ years of experience for commercial project work.

THE WORK

This role performs commercial electrical scope, including: Lighting, lighting controls, receptacles, and switching Power distribution and panel work New electrical services and service upgrades Underground and above-grade conduit Office, retail, hospitality, healthcare, and multi-family project types

JOB DUTIES

Prepare work areas for installation of equipment Install electrical components, or assist in their installation Connect wiring and equipment per code and job specification Read blueprints and electrical drawings and install as specified Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances per drawings or plans Set up and operate tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, power pullers, and cable vacuum systems Operate equipment only if trained and certified to do so — including powder-actuated tools, JLG lifts, and other operations requiring certification Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide technical guidance Perform all tasks in a professional manner Secure and lock up equipment after use, and keep work areas clean

QUALIFICATIONS & PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS

Minimum 4+ years of electrical experience Proficient in all types of electrical installations and wiring methods Valid driver's license and clean DMV record Must pass drug and alcohol pre-screening

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Climbing ladders and steep stairs Crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and reaching Routinely lifting objects in excess of 50 pounds; pushing and pulling of objects required Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers Wearing all personal protective equipment — hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, safety vest — at all times Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job Working in all elements depending on job location and time of year — heat, cold, rain Able to work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, plus overtime as required and night shifts Willing to travel within 100 miles of the Brentwood, CA area
