The nurses on this unit see patients who experience issues with their GI tract from their mouth to their bottom or lung problems. We work up pre-transplant patients, treat esophageal and gastric varices, GI bleeds, esophageal and colonic stents, diagnose cancers with endoscopic ultrasounds, all biliary and pancreatic patients with ERCP's, many advanced interventional GI procedures (POEM, ESD, EMR). We diagnose many lung cancers with the advanced navigational ION robot, EBUS as well as perform all bronchoscopies.No weekends. No nights. Some on-call requirements. This position is referral eligible and qualifies for a location differential.Unit Successes/Designations/National recognition:University ERCP performs the most ERCPs in the United StatesUse of ION robot navigational bronchoscopy on over 500 patients at University and Methodist hospitalsIU health pulmonology is in the top 8 in the nation for lung nodule referralQualifications:Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience.
