Bag Machine Operator - 2nd ShiftBrownsville, TXCompensation IncludesStarting Pay Rate of $12.00/hourAvailable Shifts2nd: 2:45pm - 11:00pmResponsibilitiesContinuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures.Check bags for quality defects off the machine, do all quality checks and paper-work as per Quality Policy.Follow all quality policies and procedures. Must comply with all good manufacturing practices.Must comply with all safety practices and guidelines including PPE requirements.Safely and efficiently:Change roll, make splice by hand, maneuver roll into position, adhere roll to web on machine, and adjust paper rollsStart, stop and monitor bag machinery and ensure it is running at the budgeted machine speedThread paper through machine smoothly as requiredPackage bags as specifiedEnsure correct quantities of bags are being placed on the pressReport machine adjustments and repairs that are required to Machine tender, Adjuster and/or SupervisorSubmit accurate production reports daily and timelyMeet/achieve safety, quality, production waste and housekeeping goals set forth by managementPerforms other duties as assignedQualificationsPrefer to have a High School Diploma or GEDMinimum 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environmentCapable of communicating with all levels of internal and external customersMust be able to think on your feet, work with limited supervision and make sound decisionsShould possess basic mechanical skills.Must be capable of standing for long periods of timeAbility to frequently lift and carry 50 lbsMust have basic troubleshooting abilitiesRegularly required to stand, sit, move about facility, climb stairs, bend, twist, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands and fingers to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools and controls, grasp, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, lift above shoulder level.
