Custodial Worker II

Functions as a lead worker in cleaning and maintaining of buildings and surrounding grounds. Ensures cleanliness and orderliness of assigned areas. May be required to move furniture and equipment. Essential Functions Leads, assigns, reviews, and approves the work of other custodial personnel engaged in cleaning and maintaining building interiors and surrounding grounds. Maintains attendance records and completes routine forms. Requests, receives and accounts for supplies and materials. Trains new employees in the performance of cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, waxing, buffing and operating hand and power cleaning tools. Organizes rug extraction and carpet shampooing equipment and cleans carpets. Inspects assigned areas and reports cleaning or building disorders to superior. Performs all the duties of Custodial Worker I. Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school board's policies and the professional standards. Maximum Salary 25.50 Minimum Salary 18.95 Full time or Part time Full time Desired Qualifications Completion of the eighth grade. One year of cleaning and custodial experience. Valid Maryland Noncommercial Class C or equivalent driver's license may be required for some positions. Knowledge of the methods, materials and techniques of cleaning and custodial work. Knowledge of basic safety practices and procedures. Skill in the operation and use power and hand cleaning tools and equipment. Ability to train and interact effectively with others. Ability to read, write, and to complete and maintain routine forms. Ability to work with chemicals and cleaning solutions. Benefits ?-- This position is eligible for benefits.
