Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting thorough patient assessments, including comprehensive medical histories and detailed physical examinations to create accurate diagnoses.
• Ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and other essential evaluations to develop effective treatment plans.
• Collaborating with supervising physicians and healthcare teams to implement and monitor treatment strategies, ensuring alignment with best practices.
• Performing relevant medical procedures within scope, including but not limited to suturing, wound care, and other minor surgical tasks relevant to eye care.
• Maintaining detailed documentation of clinical encounters within our electronic medical record (EMR) system, ensuring accurate updates and records for ongoing patient care.
• Educating patients about their conditions, preventive measures, treatment options, and aftercare, enhancing their understanding and involvement in their health journey.
• Engaging in daily interdisciplinary rounds and contributing insights during case discussions and quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve a diverse patient population in the Hackensack region, ranging from pediatric to geriatric patients with various ocular conditions. Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program recognized by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
• A valid and active Physician Assistant license in the State of New Jersey.
• Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• DEA registration with prescriptive authority compliant with New Jersey laws.

Preferred Experience
