PRN Registered NurseSchedule: PRN / As-needed; Center hours Monday-Friday 8am-4pmLocations: Float between Madison & AHI Huntsville centersAmerican Health Imaging is seeking a licensed RN for a PRN position with availability to cover shifts at our Huntsville and Madison imaging centers.JOB SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse (RN) is a healthcare professional who provides an onsite clinical presence for contrast when direct supervision is afforded virtually by a licensed provider. The RN performs rapid response services in the event of a medical emergency in the center, including providing immediate medical care and life support services under the supervision of the virtual licensed provider. The RN also serves as the point of contact for third-party emergency personnel responding to a 911 call.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Patient CareUnder the direct supervision of the licensed provider, the Clinical Care Coordinator provides assistance and is authorized to provide advanced life support, administer medications and perform a patient evaluation of signs and symptoms based on their field skill sets and scope of practice.Serves as the onsite responder and coordinates the Rapid Response to medical emergencies in the centerEvaluates the patient's condition on the scene and performs a preliminary diagnosisAdministers necessary medications and treatments within their scope of practice, such as administering oxygen, providing glucose for diabetic emergencies, or assisting with the administration of epinephrine for severe allergic reactionsUses clinical equipment and/or medications to attempt to stabilize patients or provide emergency response treatmentCollaborates with interested parties (police, firefighting unit, doctors, etc.)Provides Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) as neededGreets and escorts patients to the changing room and briefly explains the procedureProvides pre-exam screening and instructionsAssists patients on and/or off the table when requested by technologistSupports technologists throughout scan and contrast administration, as requiredManages post-scan patient hand-offEnsures efficient, friendly, and smooth patient experience for all patients who enter the centerEnsures smooth patient throughput of the entire center and all modalitiesMonitors center modality schedulesAdjusts patient schedule when necessary and keeps all techs informed of any changesStarts I.V.'s, administers contrast media as directed and per protocolCreates a positive patient and customer experience by representing the Lumexa WayAdministrative SupportDocuments patient assessments, interventions, and responses to treatmentAttends all Company required OSHA training, annual training, and all mandatory Company updates.Consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, adequately stocked, and safe patient environment.Maintains effective communication with the in-center staff, virtual licensed provider, and patients to relay vital information and receive instructionsPrepares room set up between patients, including putting proper coil on table, putting previous coil away and changing table sheetHelps the technologist stay on time by having the next patient ready before the current patient is ready to get off the tableProvides front-end coverage as neededCompletes other tasks and projects as assignedCOMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):Knowledge of and adherence to company policies and protocolsKnowledge of and adherence to HIPAA and safety guidelinesKnowledge of medical procedures, terminology, and medicationsKnowledge of current technical skills and procedural understanding of MRI SafetyKnowledge of basic level computer skillsSkill in written and verbal communicationAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet established deadlinesAbility to be flexible in schedule and adaptable to constant changeAbility to deliver high-quality customer service to internal and external customers by communicating with integrity and compassionAbility to remain calm in difficult situationsAbility to provide open, honest feedback to improve emergency response proceduresAbility to effectively handle details with accuracyAbility to maintain regular attendance and on-time arrival to work as scheduledAbility to resolve service recovery issues and understand when to escalate to the next levelQUALIFICATIONS:Associate or bachelor's degree in nursingIV credentialedCurrent Alabama RN LicenseCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificationMust have a current license in the appropriate State aligned with clinical scope practice including but not limited to radiologic technologists, paramedics, EMTs, registered nurses, advanced practice practitioners, and physicians.WORKING CONDITIONS:Heavy lifting: up to 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs.Must be able to stand, stoop and lift and walk without restrictions.Requires the ability to see, hear, speak, write, and key.Lumexa Imaging provides a competitive compensation program to attract, retain, and motivate a high-performance workforce.Lumexa Imaging is an equal opportunity employer.
