Job Title: Wednesday–Sunday First Shift Material Handler
Job Description

This entry-level Material Handler role supports warehouse operations by safely moving materials with pallet jacks, assisting with truck loading and unloading, and performing packing and unpacking tasks for electronic units. You work in a fast-paced environment, handle physical tasks such as lifting and wrapping pallets, and carefully place electronic components into boxes to prepare orders for shipment to customers. Strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail are essential to ensure accurate and high-quality outbound orders.

Responsibilities

• Use manual and electric pallet jacks to move materials, pallets, and products throughout the warehouse in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks, including lifting boxes and positioning pallets for inbound and outbound shipments.
• Support packaging and unpacking of units, including wrapping and unwrapping pallets to prepare products for storage or shipment.
• Place electronic components such as modems and controls into boxes with high accuracy, ensuring all required items are included and properly protected.
• Perform general warehouse duties including picking, packing, stacking, sorting, and organizing products and materials.
• Use RF scan guns or similar devices to scan, pick, and track inventory, ensuring accurate order picking and shipping documentation.
• Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including verifying counts, labeling, and staging orders in designated areas.
• Participate in warehouse inventory tasks such as cycle counts and basic data entry into warehouse systems as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following warehouse safety guidelines and reporting any hazards.
• Stay productive and self-directed by taking initiative to find tasks, support team members, and keep workflow moving during the shift.
• Work reliably on a Wednesday through Saturday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., arriving on time and ready to work each day.

• At least 3 months of warehouse experience.
• Experience using pallet jacks, including electric pallet jacks, to move materials and pallets.
• Ability to work comfortably and safely in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly as part of daily tasks.
• Basic material handling skills including loading, unloading, stacking, and wrapping pallets.
• Experience with picking, packing, and general production or general labor tasks in a warehouse setting.
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes and warehouse inventory activities.
• Ability to use RF scan guns or similar devices for order picking, scanning, and cycle counting.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality, with a strong sense of responsibility and work ethic.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate packing, labeling, and order fulfillment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to understand and speak English sufficiently to follow instructions and collaborate with the team.
• Basic computer skills and comfort with entering data into a system when needed.
• Willingness to take initiative, stay busy, and support the team without constant supervision.

• Experience operating sit-down forklifts is beneficial but not required.
• Background in warehouse pick/pack operations, including order picking and warehouse packing.
• Experience with sorting, stacking, and handling pallets in a warehouse environment.
• Previous exposure to general production or manufacturing environments.
• Comfort working with electronic products such as modems and controls during packing and handling.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workloads in a growing warehouse operation.
• Comfort working with ESL colleagues and in a diverse team environment.

Work Environment

You work in a small to medium-sized warehouse within a larger facility, supporting a growing team that is being built from scratch. The schedule runs Wednesday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., providing consistent daytime hours. The environment is fast-paced and physically active, with frequent loading and unloading activities that may require working near open doors. When doors are open for loading, the temperature inside can vary, staying cool at times and becoming warmer depending on weather conditions. You regularly use pallet jacks, RF scan guns, and basic computer systems to complete tasks. The setting emphasizes safety, teamwork, and productivity, with a focus on maintaining an organized workspace suitable for material handling and warehouse operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Taunton, MA.

The pay range for this position is $18.63 - $18.63/hr.
