Position Overview

The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking temporary Receptionists/Secretaries to assist at DMV offices across Long Island.

Hauppauge: 250 Veterans Memorial Hwy, Hauppauge, NY 11788 (2 positions)

Garden City: 400 Oak St, Garden City, NY 11530 (2 positions)

Medford: 2799 Route 112, Medford, NY 11763 (2 positions)

Riverhead: 200 Old Country Rd (Rte 58), Riverhead, NY 11901 (2 positions)

Massapequa: 927 Carmans Rd, Massapequa, NY 11758 (2 positions)

Bethpage: 4031 Hempstead Tpk, Bethpage, NY 11714 (2 positions)

Dix Hills: 1815 E Jericho Tpke, Dix Hills, NY 11746 (1 position)

Job Duties

Greet and assist customers upon arrival.

Screen and process customer paperwork.

Manage customer flow using the queuing system.

Grade and record results of vision tests.

Enter passing vision test results into the computer system.

Provide guidance to customers using DMV self-service kiosks.

Capture customer photos for driver's licenses.

Proctor various DMV tests.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Proficiency in using computers and data entry systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a New York State Agency.

Familiarity with DMV operations or customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.

Misc. Information

Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM.

Interview will be conducted in-person.
