About the Position

Job Title: RN Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Profession: RN Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Certification, CPI/MOAB Must-Have: EPIC EMR Experience in a similar unit within the last 12 months Description: These positions will provide support for the unit during surge. Traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance. A basic dysrhythmia test will be administered. This test must be passed in order to work in the float pool. Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in coordination with other health team members. Effectively interacts with the patient, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining high standards of professional nursing. Provides high-quality care to geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, psychiatric, and telemetry patient populations. Estimated work week is 36 hours. Every other weekend rotation is required. Every other holiday rotation is required. Candidate will be required to float to units within scope and may occasionally float to other campuses. Floating may include any non-critical care inpatient units, including behavioral health and emergency department if there are boarded patients. If the traveler has critical care experience, they may be floated to critical care or intensive care units. Traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance. Basic dysrhythmia test will be given during the first week of assignment. ACLS certification is required. Telemetry ratios are currently 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights. Medical/surgical ratios are currently 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights. While the traveler will not be part of a regular call rotation, they may occasionally be placed on call during periods of low census. If called in, the traveler is expected to be able to respond and arrive on-site within one hour.
