This is a Casual Status also known as Per Diem Day shift position from 6a-6p. The location is Mercy Chula Vista but you might float to Mercy San Diego. Join our team as a Respiratory Therapist within our Respiratory Therapy department at Scripps Mercy Chula Vista. Use your technical skills and experience to help our team in this exciting and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has a thirst for knowledge and is eager to grow within the Scripps Health family. In collaboration with other caregivers, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates action for respiratory care. Performs all technical, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to respiratory care. Performs other core responsibilities to maintain the flow of patient care. May provide additional patient care within their scope of practice as permitted by licensure, certificate or training. Utilizes computer systems in performing position duties. Adheres to hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Participates in quality control, preventative maintenance and performance improvement activities.

Qualifications:

• Required: Current California RCP license
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Enjoys working with the public
• Must be able to speak, read, and follow instructions in English
• Technically competent in the department skills inventory
• Computer literate
• Preferred: Graduate of one or two year AMA School of Respiratory Care
