Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An interim leadership opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy at a 70-bed Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital. This role involves comprehensive oversight of the pharmacy department and serving as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for the site. The position is contract-based with potential to transition into a permanent role.
Location: Chula Vista, CA (San Diego area)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks + with the possibility of temp-to-hire
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- Day shifts
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and management for the pharmacy operations to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and high-quality patient care
- Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge, assuming full accountability for pharmacy services
- Oversee medication management, dispensing procedures, and staff supervision
- Utilize RX Connect information system effectively for pharmacy processes
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize therapeutic outcomes and support clinical initiatives
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacist in California with active license
- Proven experience as Director of Pharmacy within California healthcare settings
- Strong knowledge of LTAC pharmacy operations and regulatory requirements
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in pharmacy information systems, specifically RX Connect
Additional Details:
- This role requires immediate availability to support pharmacy leadership needs
- Contract includes coverage for associated travel and lodging expenses at cost
