Position: HR Assistant
Location: Oakland, CA (Hybrid – Local Bay Area candidates only)
Pay Rate: $28/hr
Duration: Through 12/31/2026
In this role, you'll provide administrative and operational support for PG&E's NERC Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) program, helping coordinate background checks, maintain compliance documentation, and support HR operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and track NERC PRA background check requests from initiation through completion.
- Review background check information and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain accurate records in HR, applicant tracking, and case management systems.
- Partner with HR, Compliance, Security, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure timely processing.
- Monitor case queues, aging items, renewals, and outstanding requests to meet compliance deadlines.
- Communicate status updates and required documentation to employees, contractors, vendors, and internal partners.
- Handle confidential information while providing administrative and operational support.
- Escalate compliance issues, delays, or complex cases when appropriate.
- Prepare reports and support compliance tracking and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Experience in HR compliance, onboarding, HR operations, or administrative support.
- Experience processing background checks and tracking compliance documentation.
- Experience using HRIS, applicant tracking systems (ATS), CRM, or case management systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, confidentiality, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
- Experience with SharePoint, advanced Excel, or regulated compliance programs (NERC PRA) is a plus.
