Position Details

Shifts: Night 3x12-Hour (03:00 - 15:00)

Floating: Yes, based on unit needs

On-Call: Required on scheduled shifts if canceled

Weekends: Required every other weekend

Block Schedules: Not required

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to float between units as needed. This role requires high-risk obstetrics expertise and offers a patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:3 couplets.

Requirements

• Must have a vehicle for this assignment.
• Baseline experience of at least 1 year is required.
• Certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP.
• Experience with charting system: Epic.
• Availability to commit to working 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).

Patient Care Details

• Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Adolescents, Adults
• Unit Capacity: 43 beds with a daily census of 200 births per month.
• Daily Visits: Approximately 8 visits per day.
• Interdisciplinary Support: IV Teams, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation.

Special Requirements

This position will require floating between various units based on skill sets and facility needs, specifically between Labor, Mother-Baby, and Antepartum. Each traveler may be expected to float to other units and facilities. For assignments that require travel to certain locations, an incentive will be provided, and accommodations may be arranged if required.

Essential Skills

• Administration of blood and blood products
• Antihypertensives and Antiseizure medications
• Assist in high-risk deliveries and cesarean sections
• Postpartum hemorrhage management
• Fetal heart rate monitoring and NST (Non-Stress Tests)
• Newborn assessments including hypoglycemia checks
• Starting and maintaining IVs

Facilities Served

Assignments may include cities such as Milwaukie, Newberg, Portland, Hood River, Willamette Falls, and Seaside in Oregon.

Modular Training & Compliance

All necessary training modules will be completed prior to the start of the assignment. These may include non-billable hours that are factored into NBO hours.
