Staff AccountantStaff Accountant Responsibilities:Full-Cycle Payroll: Process payroll for corporate and multi-location employees, validate timecards, resolve discrepancies, and comply with California payroll laws and tax filings.Benefits Administration: Manage medical, dental, vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, leave-related deductions, open enrollment, and qualifying life events.Month-End Close & Reconciliations: Prepare journal entries, accruals, and bank or credit card reconciliations across multiple legal entities.Financial Reporting & Operations: Assist with financial reporting, variance analysis, audit preparation, and process/internal control improvements.Staff Accountant Requirements:Core Accounting & Payroll: At least 2 years of accounting/payroll experience supporting multiple locations, with solid knowledge of GAAP and California wage and hour laws.Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel abilities (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS) and familiarity with platforms like Sage Intacct, Paylocity, 7Shifts, Google Workspace, and Slack.Education & Industry Background: Preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, alongside experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or food and beverage industries.Key Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage competing priorities under deadlines.Staff Accountant Compensation:Competitive Salary ($75-80K)Great Benefits!Growing Company!
