Job Description

The Long Term Antibiotics Unit specializes in managing patients requiring extended antibiotic treatment. Our team focuses on infections such as endocarditis, abscesses, septic arthritis, sepsis, osteomyelitis, and diabetic foot infections. This unit caters to patients with significant medical histories, including substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients on long-term antibiotic therapy.
• Assists with administering medications and assessing patient health status.
• Work collaboratively with the charge nurse and clinical assistants to manage patient loads.
• Monitor patient vitals and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Communicate effectively with both patients and interdisciplinary team members.
• Manage challenging situations related to substance use and withdrawal.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current BLS certification required.
• Strong experience in neuro and critical care nursing is essential.
• Ability to manage complex patient behaviors effectively.
