As the Scheduler you will plan, prepare, issue and control production schedules and work closely with the production staff and Inventory Center manager to ensure timely delivery of modular buildings to our customer. You will also advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. In this position you will be a key member of the Inventory Center team.What You'll DoSchedule modular building equipment and construction in order to meet customer demand including commercial and education projects.Ensure that work orders created by sales department for production are complete and accurate to reflect all labor and bill of materials required for production prior to scheduling.Coordinate inter-departmental activities to meet scheduled delivery dates.Troubleshoot and modify production schedules in response to production issues, materials shortages, change orders and/or "hot orders".Select and allocate equipment using established criteria.Work closely with the operations team on delivery of buildings and set-up to meet customer requirementsWork closely with purchasing to ensure materials are ordered for upcoming projects.Perform some administrative and support functions for the production departmentDevelop and maintain relationships with other departments to support a cohesive team environment to serve the customerAble to perform material and labor take-offs and understand reverse schedulingAble to maintain system perimeters in area of responsibilityPerform other duties as assignedMust Haves3 + years' production related experiencePrior experience in construction or related industry performing similar dutiesAbility to communicate with internal customer's regarding work status and requirementsComputer literate with good basic computer skills in MS Office and ability to learn other programsAble to read Company's construction documents and provides guidance to construction team to complete necessary workAbility to prioritize actions and make decisions in a fast paced environmentExcellent communication skills, including negotiation with internal customersPrior experience in asset managementExcellent abilities to prioritize and adjust schedulesNice to HavesAbility to complete material and labor take offs from blue prints preferredKnowledge of current industry applicable building codes preferredKnowledge of LEAN manufacturing preferredBilingual preferredSpecial Considerations:Position requires manual dexterity and the ability to maintain physical activity for most of the day Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and hold or lift a variety of objectsAble to carry, bend, stoop, turn, kneel, crawl, climb a ladder and other manual labor activitiesFlexibility & Evolving ResponsibilitiesThis job posting is intended to convey the general nature and level of work expected in the role.
