We are seeking a Senior Section 508 Tester to support the HHS and Office of the Secretary Digital Accessibility Program Services. This position will serve as a senior Digital Accessibility Subject Matter Expert, responsible for complex ICT accessibility testing, defect analysis, remediation guidance, quality assurance, web crawler calibration, technical assistance, and accessibility conformance reporting. The Senior Section 508 Tester will also provide technical leadership and guidance to other accessibility personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive accessibility testing of websites, web applications, mobile applications, PDFs, Microsoft Office files, forms, multimedia,and eLearning products, and other ICT across various levels of complexity.
• Perform manual, automated, keyboard, screenreader, and assistivetechnology -based accessibility evaluations.
• Evaluate ICT against applicable Section 508 requirements, WCAG Level AA criteria, HHS requirements, and approved testing methodologies.
• Conduct complex defect reviews,identifyroot causes of accessibility nonconformance, and develop actionable remediation guidance.
• Validate automated web-crawler findings, distinguish legitimate defects from false positives or scanning limitations, review scan outputs, and lead orparticipatein calibration activities.
• Conduct or support authorized remediation activities and perform verification testing following remediation.
• Prepare accessibility conformance reports documenting testing findings and outcomes.
• Provide technical consultation and embedded accessibility SME support to HHS customers.
• Develop remediation guidance and conduct or support authorized remediation of complex web, mobile, document, multimedia, and other ICT.
• Mentor andprovidetechnical guidance to Section 508 Testers.
• Support accessibility service-request intake, prioritization, fulfillment, tracking, and escalation.
• AssistwithmaintainingDigital Accessibility Solution Center testing procedures, technical guidance, and Operations Guide content.
• Support high-priority accessibility activities involving executive, Secretary, White House, congressional, FITARA, and IT Acquisition Review materials when directed.
• Meet established Digital Accessibility Solution Center service-level agreements and communicateanticipateddelays or workload surges to program leadership.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Minimum5yearsof directly relevant experience in Section 508 compliance, digital accessibility testing, accessibility remediation, or related technical accessibility services.
• Current DHS Trusted Tester certification.
• Expert knowledge of Section 508 requirements, WCAG Level AA criteria, DHS Trusted Testermethodology, HHS accessibility requirements, and approved accessibility-testing methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience with manual, automated, and assistive-technology-based accessibility testing.
• Experience evaluating and remediating complex websites, web and mobile applications, electronic documents, forms, multimedia, eLearning content, and other ICT.
• Experience with accessibility defect analysis, remediation guidance, verification testing, and accessibility conformance reporting.
• Experiencevalidatingautomated accessibility-testing results, calibrating web-crawler findings, andidentifyingfalse positives or scanning limitations.
• Experience providing technical accessibility consultation, customer support, training, and guidance to other accessibility personnel.
