Lead, Program Management

Position Summary Lead, Program Management at L3Harris, Clifton, NJ. Schedule: 9/80. As Lead, Program Management, you will direct all phases of programs from inception through completion, driving program execution to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow. Responsibilities include cost, schedule, and technical performance management; contract negotiation; proposal preparation; acting as primary customer contact; leading review sessions; establishing design concepts; overseeing product research and integration; expanding the product line; monitoring milestones; and directing work of employees in technical, manufacturing, and administrative areas. Essential Functions Lead the development and implementation of a broad, coordinated set of plans and programs to meet the goals and priorities of the company. (may report directly to the Business Area Director). Conduct project baselines and identify project metrics. Effectively communicate project expectations to project team members and stakeholders (including customers) in a timely and clear fashion. Provide expertise and consulting to project managers in the process of project management and in the softer skills of team dynamics, team building, and group motivation. Ensure assigned projects are delivered within scope, schedule, budget and quality levels are consistent with partner/customer expectations. Promote project scope growth and negotiate scope changes with the customers. Manage project closure. Identify follow‑on or related new project opportunities. Understand the relationship between project and company strategic objectives and maximize leveraging activities. Define and document project scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Develop full‑scale project plans and associated communication documents. Draft and submit budget, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary. Set and continually manage project expectations with customers, team members and other stakeholders. Identify and manage project/program dependencies and critical path, including intra‑project dependencies. Plan and schedule program and project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. Perform risk management and mitigation in a pro‑active fashion. Pro‑actively manage program risk reserves. Review and approve all purchase orders, subcontracts, and changes to the main contract documents. Perform lessons learned when required. Accountable for maintaining the target gross margin. Accountable for revenue and cash. Provide mentoring, coaching and direction setting to team members and other project managers. Extensive amount of travel may be required to support proposal activity and project execution. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience; Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience; in lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. Ability to gain secret clearance. 3–5 years experience with EVMS. Preferred Additional Skills PMP Certification. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong project management skills including earned value management. Solid background in electromechanical systems, optics, aerospace products or similar technologies. Ability to coordinate activities inter‑company and with multiple departments such as Engineering, Operations, Finance, Customer Service, etc. Ability to coordinate activities of major subcontractors or partner organizations. Knowledge of contract terms and conditions and sub‑contract management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong drive and resilience. Action and result oriented. Ability to build strong relationships with people at all levels; ability to influence people at all levels. A willingness to see things through to the end. A team player who is comfortable working with other professionals. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines. Being an inspirational leader who is able to demonstrate enthusiasm, passion. Willingness to take on project ownership and accountability. Compensation and Benefits In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C., Denver, or NYC areas is $127,500 - $236,500. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland, Ohio, and Vermont is $110,500 - $205,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
