Senior Property Accountant

Responsibilities Kforce has a client in Conshohocken, PA that is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to manage general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliations for an assigned portfolio of properties. Key Responsibilities: Maintain accurate general ledger accounts for an assigned property portfolio Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual property-level financial close processes Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, tenant ledgers, and AP-related accounts Record and review journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, and depreciation Analyze property operating expenses and investigate significant variances Prepare budget-to-actual variance reports and explain material discrepancies Coordinate with property managers to ensure timely, accurate financial data Review AP/AR activity for accuracy and proper coding Monitor tenant charges, receipts, security deposits, and related tenant accounting activity Support CAM reconciliations, tenant billings, and year-end reconciliations Maintain fixed asset schedules, capital expenditures, and asset dispositions Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, audits, and tax-related requests Provide documentation and schedules to auditors, tax advisors, and lenders Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies in collaboration with internal teams Support cash management, funding requests, and owner distributions as needed Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in commercial or residential real estate/property accounting Experience with account reconciliations and month-end close Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally Preferred Qualifications Experience with property management/accounting software (Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, or similar) Experience with CAM reconciliations and tenant billing Experience supporting audits and tax preparation activities Key Skills Property Accounting General Ledger Accounting Financial Statement Preparation Account Reconciliations Month-End Close Budget-to-Actual Variance Analysis CAM Reconciliations Tenant Accounting Fixed Assets GAAP ComplianceAudit Support Yardi/MRI/AppFolio Cash Management Attention to Detail The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & $ADD$ insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
