Registered Nurse

Evening/Night shifts, 1900 - 0730. Weekend and holiday rotations based on operational need. Traveler will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to being cleared to start. Previous charge experience preferred. Patients include adults and geriatrics. Travelers are required to float as needed. Minimum experience for travelers is two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the specialty. The following skills are required:

Accessing/Managing Ports Bariatric surgery BiPAP/CPAP management Blood product administration Bowel obstruction management Central line blood draw Chest tube care Colostomy/Ileostomy management Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI) Feeding tube care and management Heparin administration Insulin management Interpretation of dysrhythmias Isolation precautions and PPE use IV insulin protocols Med/Surg and MS/Tele experience Nasal cannula and oxygen administration PCA management Peripheral line care and management Peritoneal dialysis management Phlebotomy PICC line management Pre/Post Hemodialysis management Pre/Post neurosurgery care Renal failure management Short stay unit experience Starting and maintaining IVs Substance withdrawal management Telemetry monitoring Thyroidectomy care Total joint replacement care Tracheostomy management Wound care and Wound Vac experience

Strict passing criteria for the telemetry exam: 100% identification of lethal rhythms: ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole No incorrect answers on questions regarding third-degree heart blocks Passing score of 80% or higher Two attempts to pass the telemetry exam will be allowed. If travelers do not pass after three attempts, the assignment will be canceled.
