Senior Solutions Engineer, Injection Molding

The Senior Solutions Engineer, Injection Molding is a trusted advisor to prospects and customers, pairing technical depth with business acumen to propose solutions to real manufacturing problems. Working in tandem with the Sales team, you'll be the technical voice in the room - anticipating objections, building confidence in Xometry's capabilities, and helping customers get to the right manufacturing solution faster.How You’ll Contribute: Lead discovery conversations with Sales to uncover business and technical requirements and map them to Xometry solutionsBe the technical liaison between molding teams and the customer. Consult directly with prospects and customers to identify the right applications of Xometry's technology and build the business caseDemonstrate Xometry's capabilities, including our software quoting platform, in a way that resonates with both engineers and executivesPartner with product, sales, quoting, and engineering teams - feeding customer insight back into the business and contributing to case studies and marketing collateralRepresent Xometry as an industry thought leader at events, webinars, and in the injection molding communityServe as the internal go-to expert on injection molding and related processes, helping the broader team speak credibly to customers about tooling, mold design, and process capabilityProvide project management and oversight on complex opportunitiesWhat You Bring To Xometry: A genuine manufacturing and process background in injection molding, compression molding, overmolding, and insert molding - with hands-on, floor-level experience strongly preferredAn outgoing, personable communicator who's equally comfortable in a deep technical discussion with a mold designer and presenting to a room of executivesTechnical empathy: the instinct to listen first, understand a customer's real problem (not just their stated request), and translate between technical and business language without losing either audienceConsultative by nature - always asking "why" before proposing "what"Experience preparing and presenting technical solutions within business proposalsSelf-motivated and comfortable managing multiple long-term projects with minimal oversight in a fast-paced startup environmentStrong interpersonal skills and a natural relationship-builderEngineering degree (Mechanical or Plastics preferred) or related technical degree5-7+ years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, or technical fieldDemonstrated project management and presentation skillsCAD and technical drawing experienceDemonstrated Expertise in some of the following areas: New Product Development, Materials Science, Plastics Engineering, GD&T, Mold Design, ISO Certifications, PPAP & Inspection Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including mastery of EnglishWillingness to travel up to 20%The estimated base salary range for new hires into this role is $101,000- $150,000 annually + commission depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.
