Strategic Finance Manager — Cash Flow & Close Lead

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Finance Manager to oversee the company’s financial operations and ensure strong financial health across the organization. This role will be responsible for managing cash flow, accounts payable, month-end close processes, banking relationships, tax coordination, journal entries, and overall financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and experienced in managing day-to-day accounting and finance functions while supporting leadership with accurate financial insights. Experience with Sage Intacct is strongly preferred along with management of IOLTA accounts. Financial Operations & Cash Flow Manage and monitor daily cash flow to ensure operational liquidity. Prepare cash forecasts and provide recommendations to improve cash management. Oversee banking activities, including wire transfers, account reconciliations, and banking relationships. Monitor company expenditures and ensure proper allocation of funds. Accounting & Month-End Close Lead and manage the month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and general ledger reconciliations. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Maintain and improve accounting procedures and internal controls. Oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors. Review invoices, payment schedules, and term agreements. Manage vendor relationships and resolve payment discrepancies as needed. Tax & Compliance Coordination Coordinate with external CPA regarding tax filings and compliance requirements. Assist in preparing documentation for tax reporting. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations. Prepare daily/weekly/monthly financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses. Manage budgeting and forecasting activities. Provide financial insights and recommendations to leadership to support business decisions. Systems & Process Improvement Utilize Sage Intacct to manage financial reporting, general ledger activity, AP workflows, and month-end processes. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, automation, and reporting efficiencies. Support implementation and optimization of accounting systems and financial tools. Provide support for audits, strategic planning, and financial projects as needed. Other duties, as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required. 5+ years of accounting or finance experience, including management responsibilities. Strong understanding of Finance principles, financial reporting, journal entries, GL accounts and cash management. Experience managing month-end close and accounts payable functions. Preferred experience using Sage Intacct. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
