Plant Engineer

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. Plant Engineer Location: Research Triangle Park, NC About the Role The Plant Engineer provides engineering and project support for process and specialty gas operations, as well as plant and equipment maintenance. The role involves project engineering from design to start-up following company policies, participation on project and technical teams, and providing technical guidance to plant operations. It requires independent decision-making with awareness of viability, cost, and benefits, and ensuring inspection, testing, and maintenance of all plant and equipment to meet company and manufacturer standards. With limited supervision, the Plant Engineer creates design layouts and equipment lists, collaborates with employees and vendors to develop safe designs, and works with project management, customers, operations, procurement, safety, and business groups. The position demands excellent organization, communication, and the ability to develop innovative solutions for process, plant, and project-based challenges. What we offer you! Competitive pay Comprehensive benefit plan (medical, dental, vision and more) 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan Paid time off (vacation, holidays, PTO) Employee Discount Programs Career growth opportunities Additional compensation may vary depending on the position and organizational level What you will be doing: Develop project plans by reviewing proposals and objectives Determine project requirements by reviewing product requirements, customer specifications, and performance standards Determine project schedule by reviewing plans, calculating time requirements, and sequencing elements Execute project plans, maintain schedules, monitor progress, coordinate activities, and resolve problems Resolve engineering issues with proposals or projects Control project plans, schedule changes, and recommend actions Control project costs and approve expenditures Ensure compliance with company policy and government regulations Participate in final field safety inspections Troubleshoot plant process equipment problems and implement solutions Execute aspects of the company Safety Program Oversee and direct hazardous and universal waste activities within the facility Schedule and coordinate repair, modification, and preventive maintenance operations Oversee the location Contractor Safety Program Oversee the location’s Process Safety Mechanical Integrity Program Assist in the development and review of standard operating procedures Participate in HAZOPs and FMEAs Act as liaison with the corporate process safety group Oversee and/or perform new equipment installations Other duties as assigned What makes you great: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) Minimum three years of engineering experience Preferred experience managing projects Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Experience creating mechanical equipment drawings using AutoCAD (2D) and Inventor (3D and 2D) Positive attitude, adaptability, strong communication Detail-oriented self-starter, capable of working independently and as part of a team Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project Why you will enjoy working with us: Linde is a leading global industrial gases and engineering company with 2024 sales of $33 billion.
