Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)

Schedule: Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36 Hours/Week

Position Type: Direct Hire

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) to join a high-volume, patient-centered maternity unit. This role offers the opportunity to care for a diverse patient population, including a significant number of high-risk pregnancies, within a collaborative and supportive clinical environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $33 – $52/hour (based on experience)
Sign-On Bonus: Up to $10,000 for eligible candidates
Must reside outside a 71-mile radius
2-year commitment required

Unit Highlights

20 Labor & Delivery rooms
11 OB triage rooms
3 surgical suites
~350 deliveries per month
~40% high-risk cases
One of the busiest delivery hospitals in the region

Key Responsibilities

Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
Monitor and evaluate patient condition throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum care
Provide age-appropriate, culturally competent care tailored to each patient’s needs
Accurately document clinical assessments, interventions, and outcomes
Educate patients and families to support informed decision-making and discharge planning
Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing education

Required:

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (multi-state or state-specific)
Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

Experience in high-risk obstetrics
Familiarity with clinical pathways and patient-centered care models
