Dental Assistant

Job Description Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an excellent opportunity for a Full-time Dental Assistant at the Naval Dental Clinic Miramar in San Diego, California. Position Highlights: Excellent work/life balance | Monday – Friday, 6:45 AM – 3:45 PM (no weekends or federal holidays) Employee status with full complement of benefits; 11 paid federal holidays off Provide care to our Nation's armed forces and their dependents Position Responsibilities: Assist in complex/difficult restorative, prosthodontic, oral surgical, endodontic, or periodontal procedures Receive and schedule patients; obtain and record medical histories Sterilize instruments, materials, and equipment; prepare surgical trays Maintain clean, operable dental equipment Perform intra-oral procedures as directed by the dentist Take preliminary impressions, remove sutures, place/remove rubber dams and perio-packs Instruct patients in dental techniques and post-treatment care Operate dental X-ray equipment and perform minor maintenance Pour/trims models and construct custom trays Maintain dental activity reports Position Requirements: U.S. Citizenship Certificate or Associate Degree in dental assisting from a CODA-accredited program OR equivalent qualifying experience such as: Completion of military dental technician/assistant program Certification from Red Cross Dental Assistant course 36 months of dental assistant experience in the last 60 months Good standing with the American Association of Dental Assistants and 12 months of experience in the last 36 months Graduation from a state-accredited program for dental assistants/dental technology within the past 12 months At least 6 months of experience as a Dental Assistant within the past year or post-graduation Certification in radiography (per 42 CFR Part 75) Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Company Overview: At Spectrum, we utilize over thirty-five years of experience providing optimal solutions for federal agencies that are both innovative and cost-effective.
